Indian data analytics firm acquires Cognicient

Blueocean Market Intelligence, Indian data analytics firm
has acquired a UK-based Cognicient for an undisclosed amount.

Ashwin Mittal, Blueocean President said, “We have the
services strength, and by acquiring Cognicient, which has a platform that
integrates data from various sources into real time repository of data, would
help us provide both services and solutions to our clients. It would also help
us expand our UK presence, declining to disclose the financials of the
acquisition as both are privately-held companies.”

Blueocean Market Intelligence, Indian data analytics firm

Following the acquisition, two executives of Cognicient –
its Chief Executive Officer Mike Page and Client Services Director Siobhán
Treacy would join Blueocean. Cognicient has many others working on contract. With
bulk of its operations based out of India, Blueocean employs about 90 per cent
of its more than 700 employees in the country. The company has its centres in
Mumbai and Bangalore. It employs about 35-40 in the US.
